Thinking About Buying A K-Vape From KandyPens?

Before you do, read this page and behold my tale of woe dealing with KandyPens...

On February 16, 2016 I ordered a K-Vape from KandyPens. Although their site claims that all orders will be shipped the next business day, this did not occur.

The K-Vape finally arrived on February 22 and immediately proved defective. I contacted KandyPens and was told to send it back for replacement, which I did at a cost of $2.60.

Several days later the replacement arrived and like its predecessor, it immediately proved defective. Again I contacted KandyPens and told them I wanted a refund and was told it wasn't their policy and would once again have to send the unit back for exchange, which I did at a cost of another $2.60.

Well, the replacement arrived and like its two brothers, immediately proved defective. I contacted KandyPens and demanded a refund, which they refused to do.

Completely fed up with the nonsense and runaround I was getting from KandyPens, I contacted the Better Business Bureau and my credit card company. The credit card company immediately put a hold on my payment to KandyPens until they could resolve the matter (which, btw, they did not. So if you are using a PayPal credit card, be forewarned that their process for disputing a charge and then following up on it would tax the patience of a saint - and I'm no saint!)

Well, it is now March 22 and thanks to the Better Business Bureau, I got a full refund today.

The K-Vape is, in my opinion, a very cheaply made vaporizer with numerous design flaws. Additionally, it appears that the K-Vape is just a version of the old Titan 1 and several other brands, all of which sell for much less than the much hyped K-Vape.

The problem with every unit was that despite the KandyPens website claim that it would take between 1 1/2 to 3 hours to recharge, it was taking between 10 and 13 hours to do so, which in my opinion renders the K-Vape unusable for anything other than a paperweight.

Now I'm not saying every K-Vape is a useless piece of crap that doesn't work, just the three I received. Maybe I'm just incredibly unlucky and received the only three defective K-Vapes ever maunfactured, you can draw your own conclusions.

There are other dry herb vaporizers on the market for just a little more than the K-Vape and, I guess, it proves the old axiom of getting what you pay for.

So if you have a very high tolerance for frustration and bullshit, you can try your luck with KandyPens - you've been warned...

3-23-16 Update: It appears that the refund was illusory. Despite getting a notice from KandyPens that I received a refund, it did not show up on my credit card today. I guess I should have expected that from KandyPens. I had to file a new complaint with the BBB, in addition to notifying the Santa Barbara District Attorney's Consumer Affairs Bureau.

Later in the day I received an email and a message on my answering machine from "James" at KandyPens requesting that I rescind my complaint with the BBB and giving me assurances that the refund was indeed made and I should be "somewhat patient". At this point, KandyPens has absolutely no credibility to me. As for patience, I've feel I've been patient long enough. KandyPens had not one, not two, but three chances to send me a working K-Vape and either could not or would not do so. At any rate, until the credit does appear in my credit card account and I can be sure that KandyPens won't try to reverse it, there is no way I will rescind my BBB complaint.

3-24-16 Update: The credit from KandyPens finally showed up in my credit card account. Now I'll have to wait a complete billing cycle to make sure the it isn't reversed by KandyPens. Additionally, I received an email from James Zender of KandyPens apologizing for the shoddy treatment I received at the hands of KandyPens and then bragging of "100's of thousands of satisfied customers", a number of which I am very dubious but in any event is completely irrelevant to the matter at hand. KandyPens screwed me by sending three defective K-Vapes in a row and made me pay to return them. So if you want to believe KandyPens claim of "100's of thousands of satisfied customers", go ahead but please don't come crying to me if your K-Vape proves defective, you've been warned.

Hopefully, this is the end of my KandyPens saga but stay tuned for further details...
